January 2019 Spend

One of the things we want to do with this blog is to be transparent about our journey to Financial Independence. With that comes sharing how we spend our money each month. So going forward we will be sharing our monthly spend with you all so you can see how we use our money. We will not include Charitable Giving in these updates as we don’t consider it spending.

We will share what is in each category in this post. Going forward we will just list the category.

This is the picture for January. Normally we do not spend this much money. However, I’m taking my personal development very seriously this year, especially as a stay at home mom. I want to increase my knowledge and expertise this year. So I decided to invest in myself and this is the only month that this amount will be spent as it’s enough for me to have learning to do for the rest of the year. For the month of February we won’t have any spend in Personal Development & Kindle Books. We’ll have less spend in Eating Out, Amazon & Miscellaneous. The goal for February is to decrease spend by $1000.

That’s it for our January spend. What’s your monthly budget like? Do you set aside any money for Personal Development? How do you do sticking to your monthly budget?
