Changes Coming to Site

Some of you have noticed that as we’ve restarted blogging we’ve been sharing updates on our life to do a catch up for the last year or so. As Mr. HutchLife and I have discussed, our word for this year is consistency. We were off to a great start with the blog and then life happened. We are expecting LittleBit in 5 months and our goal is to be consistent with blogging. With that in mind there are some changes coming.

  1. We will be posting once a week on Wednesdays starting February. We want to have solid content that does a deep dive, so posts will be a bit longer.
  2. We will have monthly series on different family, finance and fun topics. If you have suggestions or things you want to learn about let us know.
  3. Some of you have noticed that our tag line has changed to: Sharing as we figure it out. This is what we plan on doing. We are still new on this journey to Financial Independence but as we learn we want to share our trials and errors, our learnings and our successes to help those who are on the journey to see what can be done or ways to do things better.

This will allow us to be better prepared as we prepare for LittleBit and help us to be consistent with our posts through my postpartum period as well. As we mentioned in a previous post, one way to triage is to Expect & Design for crazy. We are taking steps now to design for the changes that will be coming in the second half of 2020.

We know that becoming parents of 2 children under will be more than a handful for us and we want to be fully present as parents and be in the moment with our kids. This time will be time we know we won’t ever get back and it is precious to us. This means that we have to work consistently on the monthly series so that when we take a break, posts will still be coming to you all on a regularly, scheduled basis.

We are focused on great content and quality, not quantity. We will also have more posts on our Facebook page as well and will share our lives on our Instagram page @thehutchlife and Twitter @thehutchlife. We hope that you will enjoy the new format and continue following our journey to Financial Independence on all the social media platforms.
